Zoombezi Bay is a 22.7-acre water park that is part of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Powell, Ohio. Zoombezi Bay Water Park was originally part of Wyandot Lake.
In 2006, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium purchased the Wyandot Lake area and turned it into Jungle Jack’s Landing Amusement Park and Zoombezi Bay Water Park. Both attractions opened their doors in May 2008.
Seventeen state-of-the-art water slides, a wave pool, a river ride, a lazy river, a children’s play pool and more invite visitors to have fun at Zoombezi Bay Water Park.
Zoombezi Bay now serves as one of Ohio ‘s most popular summertime attractions.
In 2013, more than 350,000 guests visited Zoombezi Bay water park in Powell.
The Jungle Jack Landing dry ride area features thirteen rides and attractions, including the famous historic Sea Dragon roller coaster. You can experience absolute fun for the whole family at the amusement park Jungle Jack Landing.

History of the Wyandot Lake District
Wyandot Lake originally served as a picnic and amusement park in 1896. In the 1940’s a carnival operator bought the area. It soon grew into an amusement park and got its first roller coaster, Jet Flyer, in 1956. After the owner’s death in the 1970s, the area passed to the City of Columbus, who assigned it to the Funtime company, later acquired by Premier Parks became.
Under the new ownership, the amusement park continued to operate under the Wyandot Lake name. In 2006, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium purchased the area and renovated Wyandot Lake. On May 26, 2008, the Zoombezi Bay water park and Jungle Jack Landing amusement park opened in the area.

Big Boa Falls
You go through a closed tunnel at enormous speed! Experience the intoxication of weightlessness. Visitors must be 48 inches tall to ride Big Boa Falls.
Python Plunge
Ride uphill through the Python Plunge water slide. Experience exhilarating speeds. Visitors must be 48 inches tall to ride the Phyton Plunge.
Adults only Croctail Creek lazy
river. It contains 203,000 gallons of water and is 850 feet (260 m) long. The flow channel may be used from the age of 21.
Roaring Rapids
Over 570,000 gallons of water, 1,500 feet (460 m) long, 32 feet deep and averaging 17 feet (5.2 m) wide, you’ll cruise down the action-packed river with plenty of surprises.
Wild Tides
Seven different waves in a 544,500 gallon wave pool, with a maximum depth of two feet can be found here. But watch out, the waves can get up to four meters high here.
Baboon Lagoon
16 life-size figures can be found at this attraction. 90 interactive water points where the visitor can explore and play a lot. 10 exciting water slides and an iconic 1000 liter tipping water bucket ensure lots of fun.
Tiny Tides
4,000 square foot water playground for young children. 11,350 gallon pools with water from 12 to 14 feet deep.
Sea Splash
Starting from a 63 foot tower, guests slide down the 310 foot slide, partially in darkness. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the Sea Splash.
Sea Snake
‘s one- or two-person raft descends from a 51-foot (16 m) tower into a bowl-shaped slide. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the Sea Snakes.
Sea Tubes
A descent for one or two people in a raft. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride the Sea Tubes.
Cyclone
The most exciting and popular ride at Zoombezi Bay Park is the Cyclone water slide, which ends in a radius tunnel. Traveling at speeds of 20 miles per hour, you’ll travel through the tunnel on a four-person raft. Guests must be 48 inches tall to ride the Cyclone.
Tahitian Twister
Five person raft ride, a journey in total darkness through a series of accelerations, whirls, loops back into turns and a 360 degree turn before heading back into the pool. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall or 42 inches or older may ride with an adult.
Dolphin Dash
racer slide with mats. Up to six people can slide at the same time. The slide is 310 feet long. Guests must be at least 42 inches tall to slide down the Dolphon Dash slide.

A 1,250-foot (380 m) long two-drop rapids.
Sea Dragon
The famous historic Sea Dragon roller coaster begins on a 37-foot (11 m) high hill. The roller coaster is 1320 feet (400 m) long and can reach speeds of up to 25 mph (40 km/h).

Entrance fees to Zoombezi Bay Theme Park
A ticket to Zoombezi Bay Water Park includes admission to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. In 2014, admission is $24.99 for children ages 2 to 9, $32.99 for those ages 10 to 59, and $24.99 for ages 60 and over.
